Chairman and President’s Message

In 1987, my father Dr. Nicanor D. Montoya started the realization of his dream of providing affordable and quality healthcare to our fellowmen by founding MediCard Philippines together with his friends and fellow practitioners.  Indeed, the hard work, love and dedication that were planted by its people have blossomed and gave MediCard more opportunities to help and be of service to other people.

Seeing MediCard Philippines as a fruit-bearing tree, the past quarter of a century has matured her to give birth to MediCard Foundation, Inc. (MFI) on February 1, 2012 as the first charitable institution in the Philippine HMO setting.  It was conceived primarily to develop and implement health-related programs and conduct outreach activities through funded CSR projects, fund-raising activities and donations from generous corporations, philanthropic individuals and other foundations.  

In 2023, after conducting more than 600 medical missions, relief operations and other charitable projects, the Board has decided to unanimously change our corporate name to Dr. Nicanor D. Montoya Foundation, Inc. (DNDMFI) in honor of our beloved founder to continue his legacy.

To achieve our vision as a model charitable institution and to maintain our credibility, rest assured that we at DNDMFI shall always observe the highest ethical standards built in our core values, which is to SHARE: Service, Harmony, Accountability, Responsiveness and Empathy.
